John K. Grande has published his writing in Artforum, Vice Versa, Art Papers, British Journal of Photography, Public Art Review, Ciel Variable, Lensculture On Paper, Arte.Es, Artichoke, Border Crossings, Public Art Review and Landscape Architecture. His books include Balance: Art and Nature (Black Rose Books, 1994 & 2004), Intertwining: Landscape, Technology, Issues, Artists (Black Rose Books, 1998) and Art Nature Dialogues: Interviews with Environmental Artists (SUNY Press, New York, 2004). Grande has published many catalogue essays on many artists and taught art history at Bishops University, Quebec, Canada. He co-authored Nature the End of Art: Alan Sonfist Landscapes (Thames & Hudson, 2004), Nils-Udo; sur l'eau (Actes-Sud, France, 2015) and Bob Verschueren; Ecos de la Memoria (Valencia, Spain 2017) and authored Nil-Udo; Sur l'Eau (Actes-Sud,France, 2015) and In) Formation Alice Teichert ( Hirmer Verlag, Germany, 2017).


Shows curated include Eco-Art (Pori Art Museum, Finland, 2011), Meran Nature Art Spring, (Meran, Italy, 2014), Earth Art for Pan Am Games at the Royal Botanical Gardens (2015) and Small Gestures at the Mucsarnok / Kunsthalle, Budapest, Hungary, 2016.
